Dave and Shirley Sawler grew up in Cape Breton. After working in mainland Nova Scotia and Oakville, Ontario, they decided to return to their hometown of Glace Bay to start Lighthouse and Undercurrent Youth Centres. Dave is a long time adventure and extreme sports fan and participant. When not working you may find him hiking, skateboarding, or finding some other way of getting hurt. His biggest passion is to see youth culture in the CBRM change so that poverty, addiction, and hopelessness are wiped out and every child and youth can look forward to a future or health, hope and freedom.
