THE ICELANDIC PREVENTION MODEL

What is it?

The Icelandic Prevention Model is based on collaboration between parents, teachers, centres, clubs and more who make up the community around young people, working together towards a common goal of reducing youth’s drug use by helping youth instead use their time in a positive, constructive way.

This is done by strengthening support roles for schools and parents and increasing opportunities for youth to engage in healthy activities.

This collaborative model is research based.
